What is the Hokuto Ultimate Sculpting Series?
In order to express the images from the play in three-dimensional sculpture for adults who were boys at the time, we wondered if it was possible to reproduce in three-dimensional sculpture the depictions that convey the presence, tension, and atmosphere of the characters through the contours and strength of the lines, which are unique to Tetsuo Hara's brushwork. With this in mind, we tried to recreate not only the faces and body shapes, but also the atmosphere and mood of the play, and used new painting methods just for Hokuto.
Based on the theme of "expressing the end of the century, a time ruled by violence, through sculpture and coloring," the artist uses color to depict the dust of the dry wilderness earth and the oil stains of machines and motorcycles.
Also, because it was an era when water was a precious commodity, clothes were dirty and covered in bloodstains from the fight for life and death to stay alive...
The "Hokuto Ultimate Modeling Series" expresses the worldview of Hokuto not only through modeling but also through coloring.
"Raoh special color" appears in the Hokuto Ultimate Sculpture Series!
The biggest difference from the original color scheme is that he now has an awkward smile and no eyebrows, as he was depicted when he first appeared, and his costume has been changed to a more subdued one, with a navy blue base.
What's more, by displaying it alongside the separately sold "Fudo special color," you can recreate the scene of that fierce battle!
*The version used in the film: The world of Hokuto is expressed through color, including dust, oil stains, stains on clothes, and even the bold outlines and brush strokes of the manga.
