To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Toshiro Mifune's birth in 2020, Italian manufacturer Infinity Statue has begun production of a 1/6 scale anniversary model.
The finally unveiled "Old & Rare" statue will be released here in Japan.
The image was inspired by movie theaters of the time, and the colors are monochrome.
The selection features Toshiro Mifune as a samurai, evocative of the era of films such as "Rashomon" and "Yojimbo," directed by Akira Kurosawa and awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
Rikiya Mifune, who produced the documentary film "MIFUNE: THE LAST SAMURAI," also participated in the production.
From the overwhelming archives of the "Mifune Family," we researched and studied even the facial expressions and gestures, and reflected them in the sculpture.
The city of Venice has crossed the sea and gained worldwide fame.
This is the ultimate "Toshiro Mifune" statue, presented with the utmost respect by an Italian manufacturer.
