The NSR50—the undisputed king of geared moped sports bikes that fueled the frenzied motorcycle boom of the ’80s and ’90s—is now available for the first time as a kit, cast from a brand-new mold! This bike is sure to resonate with many who spent their youth during that boom.
The concept is to create an “easy-to-build scale model” that features an innovative parts layout designed to appeal to people who aren’t usually interested in plastic models—with a small number of parts, the ability to assemble it as a snap-fit kit, and multi-color injection molding that allows for a finished model that closely resembles the real vehicle even without painting.
Although the kit consists of only a few parts, we conducted on-site measurements of a rare, existing production vehicle to ensure that modelers can fully enjoy this scale model. This model thoroughly incorporates key scale model elements, such as the reproduction of the engine, frame, and fairing; water-slide decals designed to accurately capture the coloring of complex curved surfaces; custom-made PVC tubing for the wiring; and elastomer tires.
