The C130 model, which appeared in 1972 as the second-generation Laurel, was a complete departure from its European-style predecessor, with a voluminous body.
As the basic mechanism was shared with the Skyline, the engines were primarily 6-cylinder.
The commercial's copy, "Drive slowly, live slowly," which symbolized the overall sense of ease that was created, went beyond the context of a car advertisement and became a phrase symbolizing Japan at the time.
In 1973, a 2600cc engine was added as part of a minor change.
After production ended, the two-door hardtop style in particular gained popularity and second-hand cars became increasingly popular.
Its popularity has now become worldwide.

TLV-NEO will produce the early model C130 Laurel Hardtop in October 2021.
This is the lineup of the Fukuoka Prefectural Police spec patrol car that appeared in the 65th episode of Seibu Keisatsu Part-I, "The Battle at Hakata Port!! (Part 2)".
The Seibu Police version is based on the early model, and is a reproduction of the vehicle featured in "Hakata Port Decisive Battle!!" just like the separately sold Vol. 08 and 09, so you can have fun combining them.
