Product description (quoted from manufacturer)
Whenever Kaiyodo releases a new series, "Daimajin" is almost always included in the lineup. There is a clear reason for this.
For Kaiyodo, which places great importance on its commitment to design, Daimajin, a masterpiece by sculptor Ryosaku Takayama, also known as the "Father of Monsters," is an expression of respect for him and a symbol that embodies their passion for design and is enshrined in the Kaiyodo building.
This is a figure set that packages Kaiyodo's passion.
The Daiei film "Daimajin" was a special effects period drama that was released in April 1966 (Showa 41) alongside "Gamera vs. Barugon" and became a huge hit.
Due to this popularity, a second film, Daimajin Angry, was produced in August of the same year, and a third film, Daimajin Strikes Back, in December.
Each of these three films is an independent story, set in the same Warring States period, but featuring different locations and characters, and the demon disappearing each time.
The basic storyline for all three films is that a god hears the prayers of people suffering under the oppression of powerful people such as evil lords and castle lords, and then takes on the form of an ancient colossus statue to become a great demon, destroying the evildoers and returning to heaven.
