The talent of the "Robot Master" is brought to life in a large soft vinyl figure!!
Gunbuster is back from the classic kit!
Taku Sato, a sculptor who was once nicknamed the "Robot Master" for his incredible talent in creating robots that faithfully reproduced the images in the original work while adding three-dimensional arrangements that brought out the coolest look to the max.
To commemorate the 35th anniversary of Aim for the Top!, we have revived one of his masterpieces, Gunbuster, as part of the Mega Soft Vinyl Series, in order to preserve his talent, who passed away suddenly in 2006!
It is based on a soft vinyl kit released by Kaiyodo in 1991.
In order to bring it back to life as a big-sized finished product with a total height of over 55cm, befitting the setting of Gunbuster in the series, we have refined it to convey the charm of the original prototype. While retaining the simple standing figure with a strong, core-like pose and beautifully balanced form, the fine details and edges have been meticulously arranged to create a finish that looks great on a large scale.
The figure is detachable using magnets, and by swapping out both arms and replacing the chest parts, you can recreate the impressive arm-crossed pose as well as a standing pose with the arms down.
