Product description (quoted from manufacturer)
The figure is recreated with its body raised high on land. The four pairs of walking legs are immovable to maintain the beauty and stability of the figure.
The scissor legs can be folded and posed in a variety of ways, such as sticking them out forward or swinging them up, and of course the scissor legs themselves can also move.
The crab's characteristic retractable eyes are also recreated as movable, so you can move them to create different expressions.
The standard and distinctive body color of the red claw crab is perfectly reproduced, and the surprisingly flashy shell and the transparent, glossy red paintwork of the claw legs are also highlights.
・About twice the size of the actual red crab! An enlarged scale model, not a reduction
- Beautifully sculpted and painted, with a beautiful gradation on the shell and a sharply molded complex structure from the abdomen to the legs.
- The movement setting is not fully multi-directional, but rather "reproduces the range of movement of a real (living) crab."
-The scissors can be opened and closed and the base of the arm can be moved.
- The legs are made of durable ABS material so that it can be displayed as a sturdy display model.
[Red crab Chiromantes haematocheir]
A medium-sized crab commonly found in river mouths and on land along the coasts of Honshu and south.
With its angular body, large claws and sideways movements, this species embodies the common image of a crab.
As its name suggests, its bright red claws are eye-catching, but there are also species whose entire bodies are a pale reddish color.
They usually live almost entirely on land, but can live quite far from water, such as near human settlements or in forests.
They are omnivorous, eating everything from small creatures to animal carcasses, dead leaves and fruit, and occupy an important ecological niche on small islands.
The larvae develop in the sea, and during the spring tide in early summer, females carrying eggs gather on the shore, shake their bodies in the water, and release the larvae into the sea all at once.
