Bellfine 58th Yokozuna Chiyonofuji Verdigris Model 1/8 Complete Figure

Chiyonofuji, one of the greatest sumo wrestlers in history and the last great sumo wrestler of the Showa era, was affectionately nicknamed "Wolf" for his skill, speed and fearless expression. This figure is modeled in a bronze statue style, showing his powerful and majestic appearance as he enters the ring.

The 58th Yokozuna, Chiyonofuji, real name Mitsugu Akimoto. Born June 1, 1955. Originally from Fukushima-cho, Matsumae-gun, Hokkaido.
He made his debut in September 1970, promoted to the juryo division in 1974, and made his makuuchi division debut in the September 1975 tournament.
He won his first tournament in January 1981 and was promoted to ozeki. He won his second tournament in the same year and became the 58th yokozuna.
In the November 1988 tournament, he recorded a postwar record of 53 consecutive wins. In the September 1989 tournament, he surpassed Oshio's record of 964 wins to achieve the most wins in total with 965 wins, and was awarded the People's Honor Award that same year.
He retired in the May 1991 tournament, and took on the name of Toshiyori Jinmaku in the same year.
In 1992, he took on the elder name of Kokonoe and inherited the Kokonoe stable.
